They are fully tested and guaranteed for use in pressure-treated lumber, cedar, redwood, and chemically treated wood. Designed for a clean, finished appearance, the screws include nibs under the head and a UV-resistant coating that resists fading and chalking. GuardDog® screws are easy to install, equipped with aggressive threads for strong holding power and a sharp type 17 point that speeds up installation. For added convenience, a standard T25 TORX® driver bit can be used if needed. It is recommended to install two fasteners per deck-to-joist connection, with predrilling advised only when fastening within 1-1/2” of the end of a board or when working with hardwoods.
