Ready Seal Natural Cedar Stain, 5 Gallon
Ready Seal Natural Cedar Stain, 5 Gallon is a professional-grade, oil-based, semitransparent stain and sealer combined into one easy-to-use product. It features a unique blend of oil, quality resins, and finely ground pigments that penetrate deeply to protect and preserve your outdoor wood from the harsh effects of the elements. This stain not only shields your wood but also enhances its natural beauty by reacting to the wood’s characteristics, allowing the texture and grain to remain visible. Ideal for all types of exterior wood, it works exceptionally well on premium-grade lumbers such as Western Red Cedar, Douglas Fir, Cypress, Spruce, and Redwoods.
Designed with a Goof-Proof™ formula, this stain requires no back-brushing and will never leave runs, laps, or streaks. It needs no primer and can be applied by spraying, rolling, or brushing without thinning or diluting. The product blends itself seamlessly without any wet-line application and does not require a specific temperature range for application. Ready Seal contains no linseed or vegetable oils, which helps prevent algae and fungus growth on wood. It is formulated to never crack, chip, flake, or peel, ensuring long-lasting protection and beauty.
For best results, start by thoroughly cleaning your wood surface of mildew, dust, dirt, oil, and grease. Remove all previous stains and sealers completely, and neutralize any caustic strippers before rinsing with water. Make sure the wood is completely dry for at least 48 hours or more, depending on weather conditions, before applying the stain. Protect plants and vegetation from overspray by covering them with plastic drop cloths, and take care around porous stone and concrete surfaces since Ready Seal is a penetrating stain and will absorb into any porous material. When pressure washing, use caution to avoid damaging the wood. New wood does not require sanding before application, but if sanding is preferred, ensure all dust is cleaned off before staining. For optimal results, the wood moisture content should be 12% or less, which can be checked with an electronic moisture meter.
