Schluter Schiene 1/4 in. Satin Aluminum L Channel (Anodized Aluminum) is expertly designed to provide durable edging for tile coverings, making it ideal for applications such as edge protection where tile meets carpet, at expansion joints, or as a decorative edging for stairs. This product is crafted from anodized aluminum and features a trapezoid-perforated anchoring leg that is securely embedded in the mortar bond coat beneath the tile. Its 87° sloped vertical wall section effectively transfers point loads to the substrate and surface covering while protecting tile edges from damage. The profile also includes a 5° sloped top flange and a fillet at the anchoring leg and vertical section interface, which helps reduce stress on the tile and enhances edge protection. For sizes larger than 1/4" (6 mm), it includes an integrated joint spacer to create a defined joint cavity between the tile and the profile. Additionally, the anchoring leg is available with a special radius perforation option to allow the profile to form curves, offering versatility in installation. This L channel comes in an 8' 2 1/2" length, combining functionality and aesthetic appeal for tile edging needs.
