This 3-1/2 inch long stem, or post, fits lathes with a 5/8 inch diameter post holder and threads smoothly into the cross bars, which are specially hardened to prevent nicks and provide a smooth finish. The stems feature two machined flats for easy tightening and removal, and they are compatible with Sorby’s Precision Boring System. With six different types of rests available—including 4", 6", 9", curved internal and external 9" rests, and a box platform—all can be used interchangeably with just one stem, offering great flexibility for turners.
