Tormek SB-250 Blackstone Silicon Wheel is designed for tough applications, making it ideal for shaping and sharpening very hard and exotic alloyed steels. This wheel combines abrasive hardness, shape, and grain size optimized to work efficiently at the Tormek system's low RPM. Its faster material removal is especially beneficial when shaping tools with large bevel surfaces, such as planer blades and wood turning skews, where grinding pressure is limited. The 220 grit size matches the Tormek Original Grindstone and can be adjusted to function like a 1000 grit stone using the Stone Grader SP-650 (sold separately). Thanks to its sharp and relatively small grains, the Blackstone efficiently removes hard steel even with low grinding pressure. It also offers exceptional wear resistance and can be used to touch up tungsten carbide tools that already have an established shape. The SB-250 fits Tormek T-8, T-7, and previous models with a 10" (250 mm) stone diameter.
