For best results, prepare the wood by cleaning it thoroughly and ensuring it is completely dry for at least 48 hours before application. Protect surrounding plants and porous surfaces from overspray, and avoid damage when pressure washing. New wood requires no sanding before application, but if sanding is preferred, dust must be removed prior to staining. Ready Seal recommends wood moisture content of 12% or less for optimal performance.
